Statement
Protocols are the means by which we navigate communication between different people and different things. Working with digital tools, it is possible to emulate protocols as well as subvert them. There is a potential for a change in meaning in this realm of transduction from one language to another. When established communication channels are intentionally broken these systems can produce a new language and understanding. As a tool and an area of abuse protocols offer us an area of conjoining seemingly disparate things, or corrupting that which we believe to be easily accessible.
